Description

Lynn and Marc have set themselves several goals with the music on this album: to be close to each other, to touch the soul, to expand space... Voice and bass unite, East and jazz converse. Here, melody, rhythm, and strings – those of the voice, those of the bass, those of the viola d'amore, the bansuri, and the tabla. This album will take you on an initiatory journey that begins in the Middle East, particularly Syria, towards the West, passing through Greece. From original compositions sung in Arabic, Syriac, and Greek with the Byzantine choir Antifoniko Melos, to two covers by Joni Mitchell and Radiohead, and two jazz standards sung in Arabic and English, the journey concludes with a composition by Lynn Adib sung in French.
