It is a union of two innovative and dedicated labels with a long history of renowned recordings and collaboration with esteemed artists. This is the first CD in the Pentatone Oxingale series. Matt Haimovitz plays his Goffriller cello (Venice, 1710) and Christopher O'Riley on an original 1823 Boradwood piano. Produced with a warm, dynamic and precise sound, this recording offers a direct encounter with the power of the interaction between the two instruments. The two musicians play in harmony and with delightful phrasing from beginning to end, thus producing a striking dramatic and lyrical effect.
