Complete trio sonatas

Description

If there is one disciple of Johann Sebastian Bach whose legacy has been widely secured, it is indeed Johann Gottlieb Goldberg. But he owes this destiny in fact to his duties as harpsichordist to Count Keyserling: during the latter’s insomnia, Goldberg was to play for him the famous variations he had commissioned from the Leipzig cantor. This has no doubt long obscured the fact that Goldberg was also an excellent composer. Aside from his two surviving cantatas (recorded on Ricercar), his work is essentially instrumental, and the trio sonata genre occupies a notable place in it. Here they are brought together in their entirety, with a C major sonata long attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach (BWV 1037).
