Ludovic Tûˋzier, one of the most prominent baritones of his generation, releases his first solo album dedicated to the works of Giuseppe Verdi, and on which he is accompanied by the Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna conducted by Frûˋdûˋric Chaslin. By creating 28 operatic works, it is half a century of the History of opera that Verdi wrote. Ludovic Tezier's very personal selection of the repertoire reflects these fifty years of creation. The baritone has thus gathered some of the pieces composed during what Verdi himself described as his "years of galley," such as those of Nabucco (1842) and Ernani (1844) (which was his first collaboration with the librettist Francesco Maria Piave, one of the key figures of his life). It also includes arias from his three major operas, those that earned him worldwide fame: Rigoletto (1851), Il trovatore (1853), and La traviata (1853). Finally, we delight in excerpts from the master's last masterpieces, Otello (1887) and Falstaff (1893). Ludovic Tezier is a regular at the world's greatest opera houses, from the Metropolitan Opera in New York to the Opéra National de Paris, the Staatsoper in Vienna, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, La Scala in Milan, and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London.
