British singer Lucy Kitt unveils Telling Me, her second album, which is both intimate and outward-looking. Inspired by 70s Californian folk, 90s indie rock, and country, she weaves her own emotions into the stories of those close to her. True to a sincere writing style – "three chords and the truth" – she enriches her songs with warm group arrangements. Despite her American influences, Lucy maintains a distinctly British identity and an authentic voice. Written during her thirties and finalized during the lockdown, the album marks a new maturity since Stand By (2018). Recorded between 2021 and 2023 in London, with collaborations from Nashville, it features musicians such as Spencer Cullum and Sam Beer. The album reflects her current life as a musician and young mother, even in the cover art and her preserved accent. After more than twenty years on stage, from her punk beginnings to Glastonbury, Lucy Kitt delivers a human, honest, and radiant work.
