To coincide with the highly anticipated release of Pavarotti, a documentary directed by Ron Howard, Decca Records is releasing a new best of album in 3CDs titled Pavarotti: The Greatest Hits. Allowing for a deeper exploration of Pavarotti's incredible repertoire, the anthology offers the most famous recordings of the tenor, bringing together his most beautiful opera arias, Italian songs, sacred pieces, and duets. Opening with the iconic interpretation of Nessun dorma, the disc dedicated to opera arias covers the entirety of the legendary tenor's career and includes these famous arias from "La bohème," "Rigoletto," "Pagliacci,"... About twenty of Pavarotti's most poignant recordings, including 'O Sole Mio', 'Caruso', 'Volare', 'O Holy Night', are gathered on the disc dedicated to Italian songs and sacred pieces. The anthology concludes with an album of great duets featuring the crème de la crème of music superstars, including Andrea Bocelli, Céline Dion, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder. Five previously unreleased duets are included here exclusively, featuring: Barry White, James Brown, Lou Reed, Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen, and Sting. Recently rediscovered and remastered, these tracks, recorded live during the Pavarotti & Friends concerts, offer a poignant reminder of Pavarotti's compassion and humanity, as well as the lasting connections he maintained with so many stars from popular culture.
