Sonates pour luth (1718)
Description
Luciano Contini demonstrates through this recording of the Sonate d'intavolatura di leuto by Giovanni Zamboni the vigor of the Italian lute tradition in the height of the Baroque era. Not long ago, professionals and amateurs believed that this repertoire had died out in the 1650s, which is obviously contradicted by the printing date, 1718, of this collection. In the booklet accompanying this disc, reissued by Glossa, Dinko Fabris highlights the influences of Corelli, Weiss, and Piccinini. A recognized virtuoso mainly known for having participated in numerous excellent ensembles, Luciano Contini raises admiration by wielding his archlute to defend the work of this composer against unjust oblivion.Buy Sonates pour luth (1718) at the best price
