The very personal journey of soprano Laura Catrani in the world of solo vocal writing continues with a new singular project. Following the widespread acclaim of Vox in Bestia, a project inspired by Dante that emerged in 2021, Vox in femina is now being released again by Stradivarius. The album, with the exception of the famous Sequenza III for female voice by Luciano Berio and Stripsody by Cathy Berberian, which open and close the listening experience respectively, brings together a range of pieces by contemporary Italian composers written specifically for her. In particular, the album features original works by Leonardo Marino, Alessandro Solbiati, Matteo Franceschini, Federico Gardella, Paolo Marchettini, Fabrizio De Rossi Re, and Daniela Fantechi. An auditory journey that suggests new points of interest and becomes a surprising exploration of contemporary production dedicated to vocality, accompanied by Laura Catrani's personal interpretation, an artist who has conducted significant research and is regarded by critics as a reference voice for chamber music, 20th-century repertoire, and contemporary works.
