CD release initially scheduled for 10/07
Loyle Carner's latest album, "hugo", is about building hope in a context of pain. The pain within families, within ourselves and in the world at large. Over varied instrumentation, the South London rapper drafts a personal and political manifesto.
With the urgency of navigating the turmoil of young fatherhood, mixed racial identity, and the fallout from a summer of international protests against racial injustice, Loyle Carner embarks on a process of self-examination of his place in the world - as a Black mixed-race man, artist, father, son. The album's soundscape is shaped by the use of live instruments and productions by renowned producer Kwes.
