His violin concertos display a romantic temperament framed by a classical style. The Duo for two violins, op.67 reveals a perfect mastery of melody as well as an extraordinary sense of architecture. The Duo, WoO21, written when Spohr was only 12 years old, is one of his earliest compositions that has survived to this day.
