Debussy's music performed on two pianos: the magic of elegant and precise transcriptions!Hélène Mercier and Louis Lortie have forged a musical partnership dating back to the 1980s and regularly perform as a duo, developing a unique musical intimacy. Here, they continue their exploration of Debussy's works for Chandos. The program includes transcriptions by Ravel, Dutilleux, Woollett, Durand, Roques, as well as some of the composer's most famous orchestral pieces (Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, Nocturnes) and solo piano works (Clair de lune, La Soirée dans Grenade, La plus que lente, Rêverie). Mercier and Lortie alternate between first and second pianist roles in this blend of works for two pianos and piano duets.
