Messa clementina - O magnum mysterium
Description
Created in 2000 by the chef Louis Castelain, the Parnasse français is an ensemble specialized in ancient music from the 16th to the 18th century. This recording project was born at the Vatican Library while reading the autograph manuscript of the Messa Clementina. Alessandro Scarlatti offered it to Pope Clement XI in 1705 for the service of his private chapel, the Sistine Chapel. In the 17th century, a few decades before Scarlatti composed his mass, a Roman school had been forged, desired by bulls, decrees, and theorized by singers of the papal chapel. This Roman school later established Palestrina, who died in 1594, as the absolute master of sacred music, and advocated, following his example, vocal polyphonic and contrapuntal music, without instrumental accompaniment.Buy Messa clementina - O magnum mysterium at the best price
