The singer does not hide her admiration for Becca Stevens, Leïla Martial, and Melody Gardot, as well as for Kenny Wheeler, and she loves nothing more than when music evokes images for her." - Jazz Magazine - - - Created in the summer of 2022 by singer and composer Lou Rivaille, the band Elliavir immediately won over the professional jury chaired by Anne Pacéo at the Rezzo Jazz competition in Vienne, as well as the audience, who awarded them the prize at the Jazz Vocal competition in Jazz à Crest. - - Embodied by five musicians, Elliavir's music draws its influences from jazz and world music, particularly around Celtic singing and Eastern music. - - Composed, arranged, and led by singer Lou Rivaille, Elliavir invites us to discover its original music through the rare union of two timbres, that of the trumpet and the voice. These two instruments intertwine, detach, and share numerous melodies always in search of grace, elegance, and elevation. In this project, the voice is a fully-fledged instrument where rhythm, melody, improvisation, and phonetics illustrate a rich and narrative language, closely connected to the instruments, opening up infinite possibilities that invite the listener to close their eyes and be carried away. - - Rewind is a travel diary, a collection of memories gathered and imagined by Lou Rivaille during her journeys, showcasing her maturity and ability to magnify moments of grace and inspiration.
