Before becoming mainly known for his work as a producer and label owner, LOU RAGLAND had done every job: roadie for the O'Jays, chauffeur for Don King, window washer, interior painter, backing vocalist for Kim Tolliver, member of the groups Lou Ragland & The Bandmasters, Billy Ward & the Dominoes, Ink Spots (.) all while developing his guitar playing to become one of the most skilled guitar organ technicians. Between 1967 and 1977, LOU RAGLAND, caught between the nitrate waters of Lake Erie and the flames of the Cuyhago River, produced Ohio’s most worthy and respected soul work. Supported by two album reissues, Hot Chocolate and Understand Each Other, I Travel Alone, a new Numero Group edition, brings together the singles, collaborations, and even a 1973 live album.
