"El Hombre Montana" (The Mountain Man), Los Natas' 2006 album, is an epic piece of fuzzy stoner and doom straight from Argentina. Waves of riffs lick the shores of melody while the vocals weave in and out of the mix, quite delicately for this style of music. Fuzzy guitars and dirty lead sounds tie the songs together like The Dude's rug. The drums are the staccato counterpart to the elegantly woven songs, with guitar work that weaves a psychedelic soundscape into your frontal lobe, and melodies that hypnotize your head into a maniacal bobbing frenzy. The interplay between the drums, vocals, and guitars (including bass) is beautiful from the get-go, reminiscent of early Kyuss' sound, and the Sabbaths themselves would be proud of this messy, doomy sound. Production was handled by one of the stoner scene's biggest enthusiasts, Billy Anderson, who has worked with bands such as The Melvins, Neurosis, Acid King, Fantomas, and High On Fire.
