This recording dates from February 2014, and today holds a nearly testamentary value; an exemplary vocal quartet is gathered in front of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, for the performance of this great masterpiece of sacred music, which Lorin Maazel often conducted but of which, curiously, there has been no recording until now. This will mark the ultimate achievement of the extraordinary career of one of the greatest conductors of his generation.
