Music From The Crown

Description

Silva Screen Records is proud to present Music from The Crown, an ambitious new album paying tribute to the Emmy Award-winning Netflix series through new orchestral interpretations of its most iconic themes. Performed by the prestigious London Music Works ensemble and featuring the expressive cello solos of Nick Squires, the collection covers all six seasons, tracing the journey of the Crown from Queen Elizabeth II’s youth to the end of her reign. Arranged for full orchestra with contemporary cinematic elegance, these new versions celebrate the evolution of The Crown's musical language while offering an intensity suited for the concert hall, whether it’s Hans Zimmer’s woodwind-dominated main theme, Rupert Gregson-Williams and Lorne Balfe’s grand musical frescos, or Martin Phipps’ more introspective motifs. Zimmer approached the project with the same rigor as a feature film, aware of the scope of Peter Morgan's vision. Gregson-Williams recalls long discussions to craft a theme that was both regal and contained, while Balfe emphasizes the evolution of the music in parallel with that of the Queen, from ingenue to assertive monarch. From Season 3 onwards, Martin Phipps took over, balancing the legacy of his predecessors with a new identity adapted to entering a new era. Produced by Silva Screen’s renowned team, Music from The Crown will be released worldwide on June 20, 2025, on all major streaming platforms.
