“From the Toolkit of Lovers” is the latest release by Brian Leeds, known under several pseudonyms: Huerco S., Pendant and Loidis. Recorded during the summer of 2025, this album explores the sounds of “One Day” through a 110-minute meditation on life, love and dub. On it, Leeds revisits the tools he has accumulated over the past fifteen years, embarking on a deep exploration of the Loidis sound, where past and present are in constant dialogue and where words lose their meaning. The twelve deliberately expansive tracks are crafted with great finesse. Long versions intended for demanding DJs, they take their time to make room for extended transitions. Thus, our perception of Leeds’ music continues to evolve and transform. Superlatives remain insufficient. “Micro-house,” “minimal,” “dub techno,” “ambient”: so many terms that reduce presence to mere compression. Each sonic layer blurs visual perception. Each listen reveals what was already there. The speakers blow into the air and point to a simple truth: love is the source, life is the path.
