The accordionist Lionel Suarez brings together an exceptional ensemble - the trumpeter, composer, and conductor Airelle Besson, the French cellist Vincent Segal, and the Argentine percussionist Minino Garay, drawing inspiration from the world of the greatest tango singer: Carlos Gardel. An original instrumentation and the meeting of these four prominent figures of the current French music scene invite us on a journey between milongas and ballads, melancholy and light, under the amused gaze of the ghost of Carlos Gardel. Without the genre's preferred instruments (voice, violin, guitar, and piano), Quarteto Gardel breaks stereotypes and presents a raw and refined music with tangy bursts. More than a tribute, it is an inspiration (there are ultimately only three pieces by the great Carlos), and it is through their own compositions that they grab us by the gut, turn our souls inside out, and carry us away in an Australian delight.
