Based on the graphic novel by Jean Van Hamme and William Vance, the cult first-person shooter from 2003 adopted a cel-shaded look and visual onomatopoeia to stand out. Blending action, stealth, and exploration, XIII is filled with conspiracies, assassinations, and twists.
The French composer Lionel Gaget created a superb jazz espionage soundtrack that merges the musical style of the 60s James Bond films by John Barry with the instrumental funk of Ocean's Eleven by David Holmes. The 11 specially remastered tracks from the LP - featured in the 2003 and 2020 versions of the game - are packed with top-notch percussion, deep bass, and subtle jazz notes.
