REANIMATION

Description

A curious object, this Linkin' Park “Reanimation.” In fact, the band, tired of winning over high school students with its sanitized grunge and enduring the sharp mockery of a more mature audience, decided to polish its image by claiming hip-hop credibility with this new record. To do so, a string of dee-jays — among others, Kutmasta Kurt, Alchemist, Jay Gordon — were given the heavy task of remixing the tracks from Linkin' Park’s first album, “Hybrid Theory,” in an attempt to turn them into violent bursts of uncompromising hip-hop. The result is appealing, temporarily making you forget the band’s childish grunge-metal, but it certainly should not win over Linkin' Park’s die-hard fans.
