After the runaway success of her first single “Je pense à vous,” which already has several million streams and TikTok videos, Linh unveils her first EP: “Signé, Linh.” Linh was born in the south of France, in Nice, into a family of musicians. She grew up to the rhythm of guitar strings, Francis Cabrel songs, and made the most of every moment she could hold a microphone. She started singing at age 3 at school and joined the children’s choir of the Opéra de Nice at 8. Her voice would then resonate in many places along the Côte d’Azur. Making her passion her profession is a dream that will never leave her. While her parents chose the stability of a more ordinary profession for themselves and encouraged her to do the same, Linh, after studying language sciences, decided to leave her future in the hands of fate. She submitted an application to enter a speech therapy school and told herself: “If the answer is yes, I’ll extinguish this dream burning inside me. If it’s no, I’ll take the first train to Paris and go live my dream: becoming an artist.” Two weeks later, she was on the rails to the capital, torn between the sadness of leaving her family and her native south, and the excitement of the unknown, of this dream she could almost touch. After a few years spent in the studio, meeting people and making music, she was spotted by GIMS, who took her under his wing and helped develop her career. Little by little, she established herself and refined her project, her lyrics, her songwriting, her image. In her first EP, Linh opens up, more authentic than ever, both about her journey, the pursuit of her dream and her emancipation (“Je pense à vous”), her relationships (“Le passé”, “Ne me dis plus jamais”), but also about love with a capital A (“C’est trop”) and tells stories (“Matelot”). For Linh, making art her life’s project is a victory of passion over reason, music being like a visceral outlet. “This life is mine, but also my parents’, who never dared to take the leap. I’m doing it for myself, for them, and for every human being inhabited and driven by a dream.”
