Requiem K 626 révisé et complété par Robert D.Levin

Description

ATMA Classique is reissuing one of Les Violons du Roy’s flagship recordings, Mozart’s Requiem, in the revised and completed version by Robert D. Levin, first released on the Dorian label in 2002. Joined by soloists Karina Gauvin, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, John Tessier and Nathan Berg, Bernard Labadie conducts Les Violons du Roy and the La Chapelle de Québec choir. Following its initial release, this recording of the Requiem won a Juno Award in 2003 in the category Classical Album of the Year - Vocal or Choral Performance. This recording of Mozart’s Requiem is particularly poignant; it was recorded live in Troy, New York State, during the week following the dramatic events of September 11, 2001 in New York. This recording reflects the emotion and immediacy of this very special concert, which was later broadcast on CBC’s Opening Night television program.
