Big Crown Records is proud to present the second album by Imprimés, Fading Forward. Led by Morten Martens, a self-taught multi-instrumentalist and producer, this album explores mortality, escape, and a multitude of experiences related to love. Martens made a strong impression with his debut album Rêverie, released in 2023 and critically acclaimed. Since then, he has built a loyal audience as diverse as his musical influences. He blends 60s and 70s soul sounds with doo-wop arrangements; draws his rhythmic energy from hip-hop; and wraps it all in 90s and 2000s alternative vocals. But it is primarily his lyrics, the emotion he puts into them, and his interpretation that give his music its coherence and set him apart from his peers. The writing, with its infectious energy and pop sensibility, is executed with elegance and exquisite taste, giving Imprimés that immediate and rare charm that only intensifies with each listen. Hailing from Kristiansand, Norway, Morten plays almost all the instruments on Fading Forward, produced and arranged the album, and of course, sang. "It's soul, but I don't really have the voice of a soul artist," he humbly explains. "I do it my way, with my own style." In the small town of Kristanland, Norway, a tremendous talent has long lived in the shadows. His signing with the New York label Big Crown Records has encouraged Morten Martens to share his own music.
