The operettas of Maurice Yvain enjoyed immense success in the 1920s. The "swing" fantasy of these tunes, the catchy songs, and the perfectly polished rhythms were all the rage in the Paris of the Roaring Twenties. However, the success of these comedies with their caustic humor is also greatly attributed to the fabulous texts of Albert Willemetz, considered one of the fathers of modern operetta in the 20th century. The choruses of Yvain and Willemetz are hummed in the streets and charm all who hear them… even a century later! Les Frivolités Parisiennes are dedicated to reviving this music that has not aged a bit. Yes! was premiered at the Théâtre des Capucines on January 26, 1928, with immediate success, and this story of a complicated marriage between Le Touquet and London would remain on the bill for years.
