Legendary institution, the Red Army Choir made headlines again last autumn by accompanying singer Vincent Niclo on his multi-platinum album, dedicated to the great opera arias, and then on an exceptional tour in France and abroad. To support the future appearances of the ensemble (more than 250 concerts a year), including those as the opening act for Céline Dion's concerts at Bercy in November, Deutsche Grammophon presents the official album of the Red Army Choir, The Soul of Russia. More than two hours of music on a double album bringing together their greatest hits, from popular Russian melodies like "Le temps du muguet" (The Nights of Moscow), "Les yeux noirs" (Dark Eyes) and "Kalinka" to opera choruses like "O Fortuna" (Carmina Burana) and "Nessun Dorma" (Turandot). Two new tracks complete the collection, "Little Drummer Boy" and "Peace and Freedom."
