After having accompanied Stan Getz, Shorty Rogers, and Chet Baker, bassist Leroy Vinnegar signed his first solo album in 1958 with 'Leroy Walks!' This was an opportunity for one of the masters of the "walking bass" to showcase his solo talents within an all-star lineup including vibraphonist Victor Feldman, pianist Carl Perkins, and trumpeter Gerald Wilson.
