Leila Schayegh explores the mysteries of Biber's Rosary Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber is among the most important violinists of the Baroque era, and his virtuosic works are considered jewels of this period. Among these, his Rosary Sonatas stand out in particular: in a cycle of 16 sonatas, Biber sets to music the mysteries of the various Rosary prayers that trace the life of Jesus. Biber uses a special technique called "scordatura," which involves tuning the violin strings differently. Biber requires a new tuning for each sonata, creating a new sound for each mystery and great intensity throughout the cycle. Leila Schayegh explores the mysteries of Biber's Rosary with great sensitivity.
