Baa Bow Warm Canto

Description

BAA BOX is a three-headed animal, where each of its members builds their identity openly in a unique synergy. Their first album BAABEL was a kind of epic with rock and melodic accents and noise contours. It featured the acrobatic and moving vocals of Leïla Martial (singer and leader of the group), guitarist Pierre Tereygeol (an inspired and flamboyant colorist), and Eric Perez (virtuoso drummer and vocal bassist). For this second opus/volume, Leïla takes her two companions to her original imaginary land: a bare and stripped land, where the body (the voice) would be the only source to draw from. Always inspired by pygmy songs, nights, gypsies, and all the techniques that push vocal possibilities to the limit, Leïla will draw from her two accomplices (already instrumentalists-vocalists) the original substance, in an attempt to create a sensitive, pure world free from the marks of time. The exploration and displacement of pre-established forms/roles are still highlighted, but this is complemented by a quest for simplicity, purity, a kind of claimed "sonic humanism."
