Standards live

Description

During his lifetime, the legendary Lee Konitz practiced improvisation on the flagship titles of the American music repertoire known as the Great American SongBook. In this recording made in New York at the Village Vanguard in April 2009, the enthusiastic audience was invited to recognize the original melodies, and the quality of the material chosen for his improvisations is absolutely undeniable. A concept perfectly suited to his colleagues, pianist Florian Weber (Cologne), bassist Jeff Denson (San Diego) and drummer Ziv Ravitz (Israel), and giving them great freedom of action.
