Sonate pour violon
Description
The commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of Paul Hindemith (1895-1963) continues at Brilliant Classics: siblings Eliot and Jill Lawson recorded in 2013 the violin and piano sonatas of this composer who, let us not forget, was first and foremost a violinist. The collection of the Sonatas opus 11 includes two pieces, No. 1 being largely atonal and strongly influenced by Debussy, No. 2, with its vast proportions, falling within the Romanticism of Reger, Strauss and Korngold. Among the two later sonatas, the sonata in E major (1936) was composed during the difficult period of Nazi attacks against him in the press, and the sonata in C major dates from the composer’s exile in Switzerland.Buy Sonate pour violon at the best price
