Almost a year and a half after the release of her album My Echo, Portland native singer Laura Veirs will release her new album, Found Light, on July 8th via Bella Union/[PIAS]. While technically her 12th studio album, in many ways it also feels like her very first: Found Light is her first record co-produced alongside Shahzad Ismaily, and allows Veirs to embrace a sovereignty and artistic independence she'd never known before. Found Light is a 14-track album, blending raw and honest lyricism with addictive indie rock. It's a kind of testament to independence, to creating new possibilities for oneself, even after great loss. Found Light is a reminder that we are always capable of something more in life.
