The latest studio album "Blood Harmony" confirms all the good that we already thought of Larkin Poe. The two sisters have managed to shape a beautiful blues rock identity, infusing a new energy into the genre with a forward-looking perspective and a resolutely feminine approach. They co-produced this album with Texas guitarist Tyler Bryant (Rebecca's husband in real life).
While Megan takes care of the vocal harmonies and her now-famous lap-steel guitar, Rebecca handles the singing, guitar, and keyboards. Longtime members of their band, Kevin McGowan and Tarka Layman are on drums and bass. Mainly recorded in Rebecca and Tyler's home studio, the result is electrifying and fully exploits the vitality felt during the combo's concerts.
Each song is imbued with a soul sensitivity and exhilarating ferocity. From the feverish guitar play of "Bad Spell" to the moving "Southern Comfort," through the fiery title track, "Blood Harmony" reveals a band in perfect harmony with its formidable intuitions. Throughout this record, Larkin Poe tells stories fortified by a sound as heavy as the blues, which touch the listener straight to the heart.
The release of this album will be accompanied by a 6-date tour in France, including the OLYMPIA in Paris in October 2023 + summer festivals including Les Eurockennes de Belfort.
