2CD presenting one of the most famous pianists in the world in a repertoire of the most popular masterpieces of Rachmaninov proposed here, are the very symbol of Russian romantic music. First, there are the titanic Piano Concertos No. 2 and 3, known to be difficult, whose technical demands do not intimidate the prodigious pianist. To these favorite works are added the virtuosic Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini (with Valery Gergiev leading the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra), the profound Elegiac Trio (with Radim Repin on violin and Mischa Maisky on cello), then the great Prelude in G minor and Sonata No. 2. This double album thus brings together for the first time the recordings of Lang Lang made for Deutsche Grammophon and his previous recordings for Telarc:
