A member of the emblematic group Le Gouffre, L'Affreux Jojo is going solo with a first EP full of rich rhymes and beats in the purest tradition of French rap. L'Affreux Jojo is a young French rapper from the 20th arrondissement (Paris) and a member of the emblematic group Le Gouffre. The best-kept secret so far, he is Le Gouffre's most current lyricist, halfway between the modernity of references from his generation and the talent of experienced lyricists (Char, L'Indis, Gabz) alongside whom he worked on his writing and flow. Discovered in 2013 by the general public on Le Gouffre's already cult compilation “Marche Arrière”, L'Affreux Jojo made a strong impression with very polished lyrics, blending imagery and wordplay, brushing up against impertinence and mastering each of his rhymes. Le Gouffre's album "L'apéro avant la galette" released in 2015 confirmed expectations, and we found a JoJo who was refining his style, with a sing-song voice that would be found on Char's compilation "Nous contre eux vol.1". Representing the modernity and renewal of lyric-driven rap, he naturally fits in the lineage of artists like Scred Connexion or Flynt. Already mature, he releases here his first solo EP "Portraits gâchés". With only one guest (Nepal), JoJo wanted to show the full extent of his talent and establish his universe across 8 dense tracks, ahead of a first album planned for 2018.
