Five distinctive female voices, united in one breath! La Mal Coiffée is first and foremost a breath. The breath of five female voices, messengers of a language that packs a punch: Occitan. Drawing from Languedoc folk song, La Mal Coiffée creates a unique sound, imbued with a visceral pulse. Their polyphonic work is reinvented and enriched every day by this raw, powerful, and generous material drawn from popular tradition. La Mal Coiffée’s 4th album, L'embelinaire, will be released on September 22, 2014. It is the meeting of a polyphonic group at the height of its art, La Mal Coiffée, and two major figures of Languedoc literature: Jean Marie Petit and Léon Cordes.
