LA LOM releases their debut album - The Los Angeles League of Musiciens (Verve Records). The collection of 13 songs features all original music from this exciting new trio from Los Angeles, seamlessly weaving together the diverse genres and cultures of their beloved hometown. Enthusiasm for LA LOM is growing day by day and includes a profile in the LA Times, interviews, and performances on KCRW and WNYC, with Aquarium Drunkard, a recent appearance on Office Hours with Tim Heidecker, and much more. They have also announced additional tour dates. Among the highlights is the Paris edition of the Pitchfork Music Festival on November 8. Listening to LA LOM is like tuning a radio dial to discover a series of stations. They draw inspiration from classic Mexican music; Boleros and Cumbia Sonidera are woven into the very fabric of Los Angeles' soundscape, resonating in the streets through car radios, backyard parties, and lively dance halls. This is complemented by the guitar sound of Peruvian Chicha, Bakersfield Country, traditional folk music from Sicily, Turkey, and beyond, as well as the heartfelt ballads of the 1950s and 60s that they grew up listening to on Los Angeles' oldies station, K-EARTH 101, evoking the laid-back aesthetic that defines the region.
