The vertigo of faith with the fervor of La Chapelle Rhénane! The first of the last words of Christ, which the voices of La Chapelle Rhénane address to us like an arrow shot. All our humanity, concentrated, is the target. Otherwise, it would not be worth tongues being loosened to say the unsayable. The voices, whose breadth reveals the depths from which they are born, project to us the tightrope thread on which Haydn’s entire oratorio will then move forward. One is seized by vertigo, but we will cross space with the voices as path and as safety rope. Founded in 2001 by tenor Benoît Haller, La Chapelle Rhénane is an ensemble of singers and solo instrumentalists. Their aim is to devote themselves to reinterpreting major works from the European vocal repertoire, with the intention of revealing in these works the emotion, humanity and modernity capable of appealing to a wide audience.
