La mistrine

Description

Our Quebec cousins have a knack for stirring up a serious urge to dance when you listen to their folk music, often driven by the sound of the accordion or violin. La Bottine souriante adds to this innate talent a true “big band” approach, with a singer, solid compositions, and cheerful themes. A truly cult and hugely popular group in Quebec, with La Mistrine, it has definitively marked its territory: openly “fun” and an enormous urge to move to this whirling music, whose roots lie between folk, Cajun music and even musette. Let the group take care of wondering about the meaning of “La Mistrine”: “Is it a trivial dance or Saint Vitus’ dance, a love ritual, a siren song, a missing Casanova, a sybaritic being, a legend of Yabe or even a court executioner?”
