4AD celebrates the 30th anniversary of ‘Hips and Makers’, the debut solo album by Kristin Hersh. Released in 1994, this largely acoustic work sees the musician stepping aside from her role in the alt-rock band Throwing Muses to reveal a more sensitive side of her artistry. An immensely personal album recorded in just two weeks with Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith, Suzanne Vega, Allen Ginsberg), its stripped-down tracks are almost exclusively based on Kristin Hersh's voice and guitar. This anniversary edition includes all 15 tracks from the album along with the two EPs that complement it, available in a double CD version.
