Precipice Fantasy

After Benidorm Dream released in 2013, Koudlam disappeared from the radar, dedicating himself mainly to ornithology and the study of primates, "to regain a semblance of mental balance." Today he returns to civilization with Precipice Fantasy, an album inspired by his own wanderings as well as the hallucinatory and romantic tales of 17th-century adventurers who wanted to climb virgin mountains, cross the realms of death, simply for glory, and to forget themselves...
The album will be released in two parts. The first part delivers a barrage of meteorites where the artist uses, as usual, standardized pop motifs to make them short-circuit, and always without deviating from the ultimate melody, chanted to the point of trance. The second part is an instrumental and contemplative record, a kind of music for an awkward yoga session, that of a tourist who dreamed of climbing Everest but no longer has the strength to extricate himself from the depths of Kathmandu. Koudlam thus delivers the soundtrack of the peaks and the precipices. Or rather that of the path between the two, winding, dizzying, always on the edge of the blade.
