After his revolutionary album "Opa Hey!" and the raw and groovy "Demoni," Kottarashky is back with a third album, this time taking us to the heart of the New York neighborhood Sofia and presenting its street corners filled with rock, blues, Balkan funk, and the rhythms of late summer jazz.
On this new album, "The Rain Dogs" feature exceptional musicians from the contemporary Bulgarian music scene. In this opus, they left nothing to chance when they gathered at Blubalu Studio in the Sofia neighborhood for the recording; they shaped an authentic sound of Balkan-American street musicians.
They invited a true poet of the Beat Generation, Nufry (Panican Whyasker), singer, songwriter, and icon of the independent scene in Bulgaria.
Their songs tell about LIFE, the worries of a couple in "This Little Devil," or the intoxication of dance. At first, "Cats, Dogs and Ghosts" gives us the impression that the band is on the road to rock 'n' roll, but soon Kottarashky sets the tone with his tightly woven grooves with Balkan intonations already seen in "Opa Hey!"
Kottarashky is a superb album of Balkan Beats, imbued with funk and airy rock.
