Description

Passion, solitude, nostalgia, pain of the world, escape, death – these are the typical themes of Romanticism. In his first recital Saga (Alpha549), Konstantin Krimmel had already explored this era marked by extreme emotions. Together with his pianist partner Ammiel Bushakevitz, he now dives even deeper into this cosmos: "I simply love to tell stories. Even as a child, I enjoyed listening to old legends and tales," says Krimmel, who is indeed a fabulous storyteller-singer. The two artists have chosen to confront the works of two composers on these grand themes, Franz Schubert and Carl Loewe, two masters of the Lied with very different fates, as Loewe lived for seventy-two years, more than double that of Schubert.
