Kokoroko, the contemporary jazz collective based in London, has released their new single "Three Piece Suit" featuring Azekel. Warm, rich, and sumptuous, "Three Piece Suit" is a heartfelt homage to the Nigerian immigrant experience. An early draft of the track originated in Kokoroko's studio under the working title "Get The Message". Subtle touches of funk crackle within the comfortable, patiently arranged grooves of the track, adding new dimensions to the band's signature Afrobeat and jazz sound in a way reminiscent of Cymande's work. The incorporation of Brazilian nose flute and dazzlingly sounding synth lines further caresses the instrumentation, effortlessly transporting listeners back in time. The upcoming EP will mark the first dose of new music from Kokoroko since the release of "Could We Be More Remixes". This experimental and kaleidoscopic sister project to their 2022 debut album was met with critical acclaim upon its release. By enlisting some of contemporary music's most avant-garde artists such as KeiyaA, Ash Lauryn, Stefan Ringer, and Hagan to reimagine the original album through a club-focused perspective, "Could We Be More Remixes" marked the beginning of the band's expansion beyond spaces unrelated to the jazz sphere. A signal of their next phase to come. To coincide with the release of "Get The Message", Kokoroko will embark on a UK tour culminating in a date at London's O2 Academy Brixton. This will mark the biggest show of their career.
