Kneedelus

Description

Born from the collaboration between Kneebody and Daedelus, Kneedelus is a fascinating electro-jazz album. Kneebody is a quintet from California; their first eponymous album, released in 2005, was a critical success. Their collaboration with Theo Bleckman in 2009 on Charles Ives' songs earned them a Grammy nomination. Like his mythological namesake, Daedelus is an inventor, a creator of sonic labyrinths. He combines sounds and innovates from an eclectic range with his own style. Also known as Alfred Darlington, he has released over twenty projects on various labels and collaborates with musicians from diverse backgrounds. He is the founding father of the LA "Beat Scene." The collaboration between Kneebody and Daedelus is based on roots as old as college for old friends Wendel and Alfred Darlington. Their musical affinities generated a connection that grew through many collaborations, recordings, and performances over the years, culminating in an improvised live performance in 2009 at "Jazz A Vienne" and this KNEEDELUS album project.
