Percussionist, then composer, producer, and pioneering performer of electronic music, he participated in the beginnings of Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel before becoming one of the greatest composers of electronic music as a solo artist. His albums include Timewind, Grand Prix of the Charles Cros Academy (1975), Moondawn (1976), then the best-selling: Mirage (1977), then Dune (1979), Dreams (1986), Miditerranean Pads (1990), and the double In Blue (1995). Gerrard, born in Melbourne, Australia, was part of the duo Dead Can Dance and has since collaborated on numerous soundtracks such as Gladiator, Ali, and Whale Rider."
