Kix

Description

This impressive debut album finds its unique sound fully realized. Some songs are influenced by bands like The Cars, and "Contrary Mary" features a guitar riff reminiscent of the main riff of "Day Tripper" played in reverse. Other standout tracks include the hormone-driven anthem led by the cowbell "Love at First Sight" and "The Kid," a revenge fantasy against brats that recalls the Ramones' "Beat on the Brat." "Yes, yes, yy" has become the band's most popular concert song, always accompanied by a unique improvisation from lead singer Steve Whiteman. With this album, KIX's ironic rock and roll style has made its mark.
