In Your Face was released in 1989 and begins with what is undoubtedly the most striking and direct track offered by KINGDOM COME in their career: "Do You Like It," a true hard rock hit that, at the time of its release, surpassed everything the American hard rock scene, which was thriving, had to offer. By enlisting the services of producer Keith Olsen, who was very popular in the hard rock scene (Rick Springfield, Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, or Whitesnake), KINGDOM COME starts off on solid ground. The album is biting and energetic, exuding a clear desire to take on the world. Supported by a team of skilled songwriters, Lenny Wolf delivers about ten interesting and groovy hard rock or bluesy tracks, most of which convey a sensuality brought mainly by slow rhythms and the smooth voice of the singer. "In Your Face" may sound FM, but it does so brilliantly. Beyond the huge title mentioned earlier, this album is indeed packed with potential hits. The first four tracks rank among the best that the American-German band has written. "Who Do You Love," "The Wind," and "Gotta Go" complete, along with "Do You Like It," a winning quartet. It would be a disservice not to mention the excellent "Highway 6," "Just Like a Wild Rose," and "Stargazer," which closes the album in the most memorable way. Sumptuous melodies, memorable riffs, magnificent guitars, and an exceptional voice. Definitely a must-have, reissued with three bonus tracks, including two from the next album (one featuring Blues Saraceno on guitar) and a rare live track with James Kottak on drums.
