Description

Aged only 25, Kian Soltani is already establishing himself as one of the most exciting cellists of his generation. For his first album for Deutsche Grammophon titled 'Home', Soltani chose to record a duo program with Austrian pianist Aaron Pilsan, reflecting his Austrian and Persian roots. Alongside the famous 'Arpeggione Sonata' by Schubert and works by Schumann such as the Fantaisiestücke, the Adagio and Allegro, and the version for cello and piano of the lied Du bist wie eine Blume by Schumann, seven Persian Folk Songs by Iranian composer Reza Vali, written for the young cellist who is also the dedicatee, are featured in world premiere, as well as Fire Dance, a composition by Kian Soltani, also in world premiere.
