For her tenth album on Sony Classical, Khatia Buniatishvili joins an iconic orchestra to perform two Mozart piano concertos, her very first album dedicated to the composer. After a series of recordings on Sony Classical that redefined the parameters of the classical recital album, Khatia Buniatishvili returns to tradition by recording two of Mozart's most sublime late piano concertos: the Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K 466, and the Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K 488. Added to the program is the grand Piano Sonata No. 16 in C major, "Sonata facile," K 545. Mozart's music, says Khatia Buniatishvili, possesses a "simplicity that makes you lose yourself before finding yourself again." For this recording, she is accompanied by an orchestra with an almost unmatched pedigree in the field of Mozart recordings, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
